Tinto de Verano
This version will make a full pitcher of drinks for a party or if you're just starting early.
Ingredients
1 lemon, zest
1 orange, zest
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup lemon juice
1 bottle red table wine
32 oz soda water
lemon wheels for garnish
Method
- Muddle the citrus peel with the sugar until the oils express
- Add the lemon juice and heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves
- Remove from the heat and allow to steep for an hour then strain
- Combine the red wine, citrus syrup, then pour over ice, top with the soda and finish with a lemon wheel
