Grilled Garlic Bread

This is one of those non-recipe recipes that is always surprising and shockingly satisfying.

Ingredients

Sourdough bread, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
olive oil
whole garlic cloves
salt

Method

  1. Drizzle the sourdough with olive oil and grill or toast until golden brown
  2. Cut the "foot" end of the garlic clove off and then, holding the point, rub the cut side of the garlic all over the bread
  3. Sprinkle with salt and serve (or top with sliced tomatoes for an extra treat)
