Granor Farm is fortunate to be rooted in a region supported by a variety of organizations devoted to improving the common good. Our September Dinner + Drinks event will be benefiting Artisan Grain Collaborative, a robust network of local farmers, millers, maltsters, distillers, bakers, and chefs. AGC works to create a diverse regional grainshed in the Upper Midwest built upon regenerative agricultural practices that steward the health of communities, local economies, and natural resources.
-
The evening will kick off with a cocktail and appetizer hour with Artisan Grain Collaborative’s Network Engagement Director, Sarah Elliott, and Granor's Lead Baker, Jill Morgan. This time will provide guests with the opportunity to learn about the organization's essential work directly from Ms. Elliott, as well as connect with other philanthropic-minded community members. We will then move to the Granor Greenhouse for a three-course, family-style meal that showcases the best of Granor's grains and crops, as well as other ingredients from local producers and farms.

This ticket includes a $50 donation to Artisan Grain Collaborative that will be collected at the time of booking.
Artisan Grain Collaborative is guided by the vision of a thriving and equitable Midwest staple crops economy that stewards our landscapes and ecosystems, strengthens connections between rural and urban communities, and ensures regional food security. In 2016, Chicago bakers interested in using local flour connected with a group of environmentalists concerned about the environmental impacts of farming. Together, they realized that local production of small grains could improve Midwestern landscapes and expand the flavor and variety of fresh whole grains available to the region. Since their first meetings, the group -- what we now know as AGC -- has grown in breadth and geography to create a network of stakeholders jointly bolstering our regional grain economy through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and accessible community-led programming.
Our Dinner + Drinks event in support of Artisan Grain Collaborative will begin in our School House with cocktails crafted from Granor Spirits and grain-focused appetizers from the Granor Kitchen. During this time, guests will have ample opportunity to talk with and learn from AGC's Network Engagement Director, Sarah Elliott, as well as our Lead Baker, Jill Morgan, and other members of AGC. Immediately after the cocktail hour, a multi-course dinner featuring Granor-grown grains and produce will be served in our Greenhouse.
This ticket includes a $50 donation to Artisan Grain Collaborative that will be collected at the time of booking. This dinner is also included in our Advanced Sourdough 3 Day Intensive if you would like to expand your sourdough repertoire and have a great meal celebrating artisan grain.
Please know we are not a restaurant open to the public. All dinners are ticketed by advance reservation only and include beverage pairings. No outside alcohol is allowed.
