Third Session: Pasta for Gift Giving | Celebrate the season by creating thoughtful gifts from the kitchen.
During December's Pasta Club session, students will learn the process of mixing and kneading a traditional flour-and-water pasta dough followed by guided instruction for creating two classic pasta shapes—cavatelli and orecchiette—that dry beautifully and are perfect for gifting. Each student will shape their own portion of pasta while learning best practices for drying, storing, and packaging both flour-and-water and egg-based pastas. The class will conclude with a light dinner featuring plenty of pasta, our just-harvested produce, and Granor wines. Participants will leave with recipes, handmade pasta, drying instructions, and packaging for the holidays.
Pasta Club, inspired by the beloved Sourdough club series, is a series of classes hosted once a month, each focused on a different pasta related topic. Led by Julie Morelli of Nourishing Notes, and Jill Morgan, Granor’s Baker and Education Lead, you will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of fresh pasta making and sauce building with spirited stories along the way! All Pasta Club sessions include a light dinner featuring our just-harvested produce and Granor Wines (with non-alcoholic pairings available).

Granor Farm is fortunate to be rooted in a region supported by a variety of organizations devoted to improving the common good. This Community Benefit Dinner benefits Lubeznik Center for the Arts and connects diners with a vital local non-profit, with Granor Farm as a philanthropic partner.
The evening will kick off with an introduction to the murals that Lubeznik Center for the Arts has been facilitating in LaPorte and Michigan City over cocktails. Janet Bloch, LCA Executive Director, Mayor Tom Dermody of LaPorte, and renowned muralist Cheri Lee Charlton will discuss the health and economic benefits to the community. Attendees will then move to the Granor Greenhouse for a five-course, family-style meal that showcases the best of Granor Farm’s crops and ingredients from other local producers and farms.
Granor Table Wines and Spirits will be expertly paired with the meals. Non-alcoholic beverages are available upon request.
Kindly note that all event times are scheduled in Eastern Time (ET).
