Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

The only thing better than a chocolate chip cookie is one made with organically grown, locally milled, whole wheat flour.

230g butter, softened
180g white sugar
170g brown sugar
5g vanilla extract
1 whole egg
285g whole wheat flour
5g baking soda
2g salt
300g chocolate chunks


  1. Paddle butter and sugars until light and fluffy
  2. Scrape down the sides to ensure no clumps of butter are stuck at the bottom
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and paddle to combine
  4. Combine the dry ingredients
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and just bring together
  6. Add the cookies and stir to combine
  7. Scoop into balls the size of golf balls
  8. Freeze at least 30 minutes but ideally overnight
  9. Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes-- be aware the cookies spread so give them some space
  10. Let cool
