Garlic Rings

Like onion rings these are made with garlic scapes for some fun summer fried food treats.

3 bunches garlic scapes
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1/2 cup light beer


  1. Heat 2 inches of neutral oil in a deep stock pot to 350F
  2. Trim the garlic scapes removing any wilted part of the tip
  3. Combine the dry ingredients and then whisk in the beer
  4. Pour the batter over the garlic scapes
  5. Gently lower the garlic scapes into the oil and deep fry until golden brown
  6. Remove from the oil and let drain on a rack or a paper towel lined baking sheet
  7. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce
