Not Chili Cook Off
Our third annual fall fundraiser in support of Neighbor by Neighbor where local restaurants compete to make the best bean-forward soups and stews and be crowned the 2026 Not Chili Cook Off champion.

The Event
At this fall fundraiser, local restaurants will gather at Granor Farm and compete to cook the best and most creative soups and stews highlighting beans. These autumnal bowls will showcase the versatility of delicious heirloom beans from Sheridan Acres and prove that there's more to make this fall than just chili.
Join us and these restaurants for a day of fall festivities, warm bowls of soup, and gathering to support our community!
Entry is $25 and each ticket includes unlimited soup samples, bread, and a ticket to cast your vote for the 2026 Not Chili Cook Off winner.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to Neighbor by Neighbor's "Food for Thought" program.
Who You're Supporting
100% of the proceeds go to the “Food for Thought” program run by Neighbor by Neighbor, which provides food to children who experience weekend food-insecurity when they are not in school. Neighbor by Neighbor provides food for participating children to take home at the end of each school week.

Our Guest Producer
The beans our chefs will be cooking with were provided by Sheridan Acres, who are growing delicious heirloom beans in Michigan. Kevin Messing is a fourth-generation farmer whose family has been growing dried beans on the same land since 1939 in Ubly, Michigan.
Sheridan Acres is also our featured guest for our annual Bean Nouveau on October 9th which is a part of our Dinner + Drinks series! The evening will kick off with a cocktail and appetizer hour with Kevin Messing before moving to the greenhouse with a family-style meal highlighting beans and Granor produce.

How do I purchase a ticket?
No reservation or RSVP is necessary. Tickets are purchased at the door, and we accept all major credit cards and cash. You will receive a "golden bean" to vote for your favorite option and all $25 of your purchase will go towards the "Food for Thought" program that provides food to students who have access to school meals during the week but face food insecurity on weekends when school is not in session. Beverages will be available for purchase.

The event is held in our Greenhouse, located at 3520 Warren Woods Rd, and will take place rain or shine!
