Jalapeño Margarita

If you can't beat the heat, might as well turn it up with a spicy cocktail. This makes enough for four to six margaritas.

1 lime, cut into quarters
1 jalapeño cut into coins, seeds removed for less heat
8 oz blanco tequila or mezcal
2 oz orange liqueur
4 oz lime juice
2 oz agave syrup


  1. Rub the rim of the glass with the lime wedges and then dredge in salt
  2. Combine the jalapeño coins, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave, and ice and shake until well-chilled
  3. Strain and pour over fresh ice in the glass
  4. Serve with an additional jalapeño coin
