Green Beans and Crispy Lentils with Furikake

Fruikake is a Japanese spice mixture most often used to season rice. We put it on everything! Chef Alex made this dish for a Granor dinner adding a spoonful of both Mojo Rojo and Not Traditional Chimichurri if you want to follow in her foot steps.

Ingredients

1 cup cooked lentils
2 bags green beans
1-2 tbsp furikake, we love the mix from Spicewalla

Method

  1. Toss the lentils with a good glug of olive oil and pinch of salt and then pan roast over medium heat until crispy (you can also do this in the oven if you would prefer, 350 F until crunchy)
  2. Blanch the green beans until tender but still bright green, about 2 minutes then allow to cool
  3. Dress the green beans with olive oil and salt and transfer to a serving platter
  4. Top with the furikake and crispy lentils and serve
