Fresh Ginger Kentucky Mule

Make a mule with fresh ginger for a lively bite that perfectly balances the sweetness of the bourbon.

Ingredients

2 oz Granor Bushel Bourbon
1.5 tsp fresh ginger
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1.5 oz simple syrup
Club Soda

Method

To make Simple Syrup: 

Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan and simmer until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool before using. 

For the Mule: 

  1. Grate the Ginger with a microplane or other fine grater directly into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the Bourbon, Lemon, and Simple Syrup and allow to sit for a few minutes for the ginger to infuse into the other ingredients.
  3. Add ice and shake vigorously until chilled.
  4. Strain into a Collins glass with ice.
  5. Top with Club Soda.
