Cinnamon Cake

This cake is a perfect base for any sort of layered cake or sheet cake. The Granor all purpose flour gives it a delicate nutty flavor.

Ingredients

2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup milk

Method

  1. Heat oven to 350 F
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon
  3. In a stand mixer paddle the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy
  4. Add the eggs one by one until well incorporated
  5. Fold the sour cream into the butter mixture
  6. Add the dry mixture and milk alternating between the two beginning and ending with the dry mixture
  7. Pour into a greased 9 in round or square cake pan and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean
