Granor Farm is fortunate to be rooted in a region supported by a variety of organizations devoted to improving the common good. Our May Dinner + Drinks event benefiting Chicago Humanities Festival serves to connect diners to the premier non-profit cultural institution with Granor Farm as a philanthropic partner.
The evening will kick off a cocktail and appetizer hour with Chicago Humanities Festival's Co-Creative Director, Michael Green. The cocktail hour will conclude with a discussion between Mr. Green and Granor Farm's Culinary Director, Abra Berens, about Chicago Humanities and Granor Farm's shared goal of enriching the cultural and intellectual lives of those within our communities. We will then move to the Granor Greenhouse for a three-course, family-style meal that showcases the best of Granor's crops and other ingredients from local producers and farms.
The meal will be paired with Granor Table Wines and Spirits, as well as NA beverages available upon request.
Founded in 1989, the Chicago Humanities Festival was created with the vision of bringing the robust and diverse world of the humanities to a wider audience. The Festival began as a one-day symposium and has since expanded to hosting year-around programming featuring some of the world's foremost thinkers, performers, and artists. Chicago Humanities relies on the generosity of its donors, members, and volunteers to continue providing exceptional, affordable cultural programming to thousands of participants throughout the Greater Chicago region each year; and Granor Farm is delighted to be a part of that philanthropic partnership this May! Join us for an evening of stimulating conversation, rich fellowship, and delicious food.
This ticket includes a $100 donation to the Chicago Humanities Festival that will be collected at the time of booking. Please know we are not a restaurant open to the public. All dinners are ticketed by advance reservation only and include beverage pairings. No outside alcohol is allowed.

In everything from Indian Dahl to Thai Red Curry, ginger and garlic are the base of cuisines around the world. Join Chefs Jill Morgan and Abra Berens to learn about growing these essential crops in Southwest Michigan and how to incorporate their bold flavors into your home cooking. This class will cover everything from how to select the best ginger and garlic, how to preserve your fresh aromatics (think pickled garlic and candied ginger!), and how to create an entire meal around these two magical plants.
