Marinated Celery over Burrata

This chic celery dish can be an appetizer, a lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients

1/2 cup olive oil
1 lemon, zest and juice
1 tsp fennel seed
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
4 anchovy filets (optional)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 head celery, sliced thinly leaves included
2 balls burrata, mozzarella or chevre
Thick cut slices of sourdough or other crusty bread for serving

Method

  1. In a small frying pan heat half the olive oil over medium low heat
  2. Add the fennel seed, chili flakes, anchovy, garlic, and lemon zest with a pinch of salt and fry until fragrant and the garlic is just starting to brown
  3. Remove from the heat and add the remaining olive oil and lemon juice then pour over the sliced celery
  4. To serve spoon the marinated celery over the cheese and serve with the bread on the side ready for scooping
