The evening will kick off with drinks and a conversation between Ms. Matsumoto and Granor Farm Culinary Director, Abra Berens.

Following the discussion will be a multi-course meal with dishes inspired by Nancy's book. The event will conclude with a book signing.
Nancy Matsumoto is an award-winning freelance writer and editor who writes about agroecology, food sovereignty, food, drink, and Japanese American culture and history. Her latest book, Reaping What She Sows: How Women Are Rebuilding Our Broken Food System (Melville House Publishing, 2025), tells the stories of women changemakers who are forging shorter, more direct, and more transparent "alternative" food supply chains compared to the long, extractive, and exploitative chains controlled by Big Food and Big Agriculture.
A third-generation Japanese American and holder of three sake certifications, she is the co-author of the James Beard award-winning Exploring the World of Japanese Craft Sake (Tuttle Publishing, 2022). Nancy’s Substack publication “Reaping” continues to tell stories of the people, institutions, and businesses leading ecosystems regeneration. As a journalist, she has been a contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, TheAtlantic.com, People, Food & Wine, Saveur, The Los Angeles Times, Civil Eats, NPR, The Toronto Globe and Mail, and Air Canada enRoute Magazine, among other publications.

Sourdough Club Second Session—a new series of classes, hosted once a month, each focused on a different sourdough topic. Led by Granor baker and sourdough extraordinaire, Jill Morgan, you will have opportunity to learn her tips and tricks, practice your new techniques, and ask her all your burning sourdough questions.
This three hour class includes a light dinner featuring Granor produce and grains, a demonstration of a variety of enriched breads with the opportunity for hands-on work along with recipes to bake your own loaf at home.
Join us for a true Dinner Party, complete with cocktail hour and multi-course family style meal. Our March guests are the one and only Pat and Ellie Mullins of P&E Bottle Shop.

The evening will kick off a cocktail hour. We will then move to the Granor Greenhouse for a family style meal loaded with Granor-grown produce and the creative influence of Mr Mullins himself.
