Joy Crump is not only the James Beard nominated co-founder and executive chef of FOODE + Mercantile in Fredericksburg, VA, she is also a good friend to the farmer and chef community throughout the country. She and Abra Berens met at a Policy Boot Camp in 2016 and quickly bonded over their shared love of bringing people together over a great plate of unfussy food while telling the story of a region through that dish. Joy and her business partner, Beth Black, run a seasonal restaurant and boutique event venue in Virginia and continue to redefine fine dining and what exactly farm to table can mean year round.
