Spirited Grains with Iron Fish Distillery

Date Oct 12 2024
Time 6:30-10:30PM
Cost: $250 all inclusive

In 2016, the seeds of a great idea were sown. Granor Farm planted its first four acres of rye in the hopes of one day making a great bottle of whiskey. Meanwhile, Iron Fish Distillery- Michigan's first soil-to-spirit producer- was founded, where they now grow and harvest their own grain to mill, mash, ferment, distill, and barrel-age on site.
.

Together, the two businesses celebrate a dedication to the flavor and the craft of growing, distilling, and cooking with individual grains. Join us as we explore the distinct flavor profiles of wheat and rye through a linear tasting of Iron Fish Distillery's wheat and rye vodka, gin, and whiskey, each paired with course from the Granor kitchen that highlights that grain.

Grain In The Hand

Iron Fish Distillery was founded in 2016, as Michigan’s first farm distillery. Located along the Betsie River watershed, home of the Steelhead, they are “Returning Spirit to Its Origin” by creating a line of estate spirits, distilled from the ground up on their 120-acre farm.

Since 2021, Iron Fish and Granor have been collaborating on a heritage bourbon project produced exclusively with organic corn, wheat and barley grown by Granor and distilled and barreled by Iron Fish.

The evening will begin with a cocktail and spirited conversation between the Iron Fish and Granor teams followed by a multi-course tasting menu paired with wheat vodka, rye vodka, wheat whiskey, rye whiskey, and heritage bourbon produced by Iron Fish with Granor-grown grains.

Iron Fish spirits will be available for purchase at the end of the evening.
