Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker

Date Sep 28 2024
Time 6:30-10:30PM
Cost: $275 all inclusive

September is the time for some of our favorite things apples, pork, and cozy candlelight. To celebrate we are hosting a very special collaboration dinner featuring the work Evergreen Butcher & Bakery and Debbie Carlos Ceramics.

Emma and Sean Schacke, owners and operators of Evergreen Butcher & Bakery in Atlanta, Georgia will join the Granor Kitchen in creating a multi-course meal featuring apples, pork, and hard cider. The apples will come from Granor; the hog was raised by our neighbor family for their final year in 4H; the hard cider is provided by Tandem Ciders of Suttons Bay, MI. The meal will be lit with candles in custom candlesticks made by Lansing, Michigan artist, Debbie Carlos.

Every ticket includes a custom Debbie Carlos candlestick.
Please note that, while we will accommodate dietary restrictions, this menu will feature pork, apples, and gluten heavily.

With the idea that good meat and bread should be staples in your household, Emma and Sean Schacke opened Evergreen Butcher & Bakery to provide the Atlanta area with a delicious, accessible, and unpretentious product. Each ingredient that they use is thoughtfully chosen, sourced as locally as possible, and raised sustainably and responsibly. Emma and Sean both trained in their respective fields in Chicago, IL, where they became friends with Granor's Erin Stanley. After leaving Chicago they have traveled extensively helming kitchens in Maine, Tennessee, and Amsterdam before turning their time and attention to the craft of whole animal butchery and whole grain baking.

Debbie Carlos was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Manila, Philippines. She has since studied psychology at Clark University in Massachusetts and photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She now practices her craft in Lansing, MI, creating one of a kind pieces in many media.

Tandem Ciders, is one of Michigan's favorite hard cider producers owned and operated by Dan Young and Nikki Rothwell. They started their cidery after an inspiring tandem bicycle ride across Europe where they fell in love with hard cider in apple producing regions. Living in Leelanau Co they realized there was little to no cider production despite growing a lot of apples. In they early 2000s they founded Tandem to right that wrong and have since created a destination beloved by locals and visitors alike as they turn the fruit of the county into liquid gold.
