Ciao! I’m Julie, a passionate Italian-American home cook with a background in visual arts, culinary event production, and a never-ending curiosity about food history, especially pasta. After 18 years of working with my hands to create food illustrations through my stationery line, Nourishing Notes, I’m now using my hands to teach cooking classes. I’ve taken what I learned cooking with my nonna, combined it with years of travel, research, and experimentation, and developed a series of classes focused on traditional pastas, techniques, and tools.
I believe there’s nothing better than gathering folks around a table to shape handmade pasta, share a meal, and share stories. Culinary partners that I’ve taught with include Granor Farm, Sauce & Bread Kitchen, The Happy Hour Shop, Flock & Forage, as well as private homes and team-building workshops.
When I’m not teaching or rolling out sheets of pasta, you can find me in my veggie garden, traveling (mostly eating…), or calling my aunt to unearth and explain our family recipes.
