The evening will kick off with drinks and a conversation between Ms. Ansari and Granor Farm Culinary Director, Abra Berens.

Following the discussion will be a multi-course meal with dishes inspired by Anna's book. Each ticket includes a copy of Silk Roads. The event will conclude with a book signing.
Anna Ansari has a background in Asian studies, with a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University and an MA from Yale University. Her writing focuses on the intersection of food, family, and history, with special attention to the immigrant experience and foods of the Asian continent. She is particularly interested in the ways food, flavors, and ingredients move across borders, carried in the memories and pockets of travelers and transplants. Her proposal for Silk Roads was shortlisted for the 2021 Yan-Kit So award for food writers on Asia, and the 2024 Jane Grigson Trust Award for New Food and Drink Writers. An Iranian American from Detroit and former international customs and trade attorney, Anna lives in London with her husband, son and cat.

Join Granor Head Baker, Jill Morgan, as she guides you through the entire sourdough process from feeding starter, shaping, proofing, scoring, and baking in both a wood and electric oven. In addition to the instruction this package includes all meals including a Welcome Dinner on Thursday night, breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday as well as dinner with Harold Wilken from Janie's Mill in the Granor Farm Botanical Dining Room on Friday evening. Throughout the class you'll have full access to the Granor Kitchen and Team to learn all of our tricks and techniques.

Students leave with a slew of information, recipes, and the confidence to begin (or continue) their sourdough journey. Participants in the 3 Day Intensive also receive a promo code at the time of booking for 10% of the subsequent Sourdough Club tutorials throughout the year.

Join us for a true Dinner Party, complete with cocktail hour and multi-course family style meal. Our February guest is Harold Wilken, farmer, miller, and owner of Janie's Mill in Ashkum, IL.

The evening will kick off a cocktail and appetizer hour featuring the ingredients grown and milled by Janie's Mill along with grains grown (and some distilled) by Granor. We will then move to the Granor Greenhouse for a family style meal loaded with Granor-grown produce and grains from Janie's Mill.

The meal will be paired with Granor Table Wines and full NA beverages are available upon request. A selection of Janie's Mill ingredients will be available for sale on the night of the event. Note that while we accommodate all dietary restrictions, this menu will feature gluten prominently.
