This classic combo of cheese and black pepper translates beyond a bowl of pasta. This is one of our go-to combos for a snacky way to start any gathering.
Ingredients
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
2 oz pecorino or parmesan
olive oil
black pepper
Method
In a medium-sized soup pot with a tight fitting lid, heat a glug of neutral oil over high heat
Add a couple of kernels and cover with the lid
When the kernels pop add the remaining kernels, cover and shake the pot to coat in oil
Turn the heat down to medium and cook, continuing to shake the pot regularly until you stop hearing pops
Remove from the heat
Crack the lid and let the popcorn rest 2-3 minutes allowing the final kernels to pop
Immediately grate the cheese over the popcorn and dress with a hefty drizzle of olive oil and black pepper
