Grains Recipes
Basic Whole Grain Berries
Each grain will cook at a slightly different rate and so start checking for doneness at 20 minutes
Ingredients
2 cups whole (unground) grain berries
4 cups water
1 tsp salt
Method
Bring the water and salt to a boil
Add the grain, return to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook until the grains are tender
Drain remaining water away and use the grains in any recipe
If storing, toss the cooked grains in a glug of olive oil to keep the grains from sticking and store in the fridge for up to a week
