Hungry for Hungary with Zingerman's Deli

Date Mar 22 2024
Time 7:30-10:30PM
Cost: $95 all inclusive

Often overlooked, the food traditions of Hungary are rich, nuanced and guaranteed to make you hungry but leave you satisfied! This three course menu is inspired by the work of Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor, MI. They have spent the last 10 years researching and perfecting contemporary takes on traditional Hungarian food, and the Granor Kitchen has combed through their two cookbooks to curate a well-rounded and nourishing dinner.

--

Copies of both Zingerman's Bakehouse books will be available for purchase at the time of ticketing and onsite at the dinner.

The event will kick off with a conversation between Rodger Bowser, Chef and Managing Partner at Zingerman's Deli, and Abra Berens of Granor Farm. They will certainly cover why Hungarian food captured the attention of a renowned food institution, why it is resonant with the food of the northern midwest, and how paprikash (and Rodger) are responsible for Abra's cooking career.

The dinner will begin with crunchy spring time salad with dill pogacsa followed by their traditional paprikash and rye dumplings. The meal will finish with a tasty dobos torta under the stars and awash in the glow of our fireplace. Every meal includes beverages, both alcoholic and non, paired with that night's menu.

This dinner is shorter and more casual than our traditional Taste of Granor. Children are more than welcome, but we do not offer a "kids menu" or discounted pricing.

We hope you will relax into the weekend with a unique, comforting dinner on the farm.
