Meet Rob Buono and Liz Cicchelli, founders.
Rob Buono and Liz Cicchelli founded Granor Farm. Rob’s first trips to Southwestern Michigan began in the early 1990’s and reminded him of the Minnesota lakes and farming communities he grew up with.
Growing up in downtown Chicago, Liz spent her summers at a small cottage in Union Pier, MI, less than 10 miles from what is now Granor Farm. The unspoiled Lake Michigan beaches and rural landscapes provided a balance with Chicago’s urbanity.
Whether from backyard gardens, the local food co-op founded by his mother or a family farm school, eating fresh and natural produce, eggs, breads and meats was a daily expectation in Rob’s family. In 2008, Liz and Rob acquired 10 acres in Three Oaks, MI with the first crops planted in 2009. Recently, Granor Farm expanded by acquiring another 15 acres.
